Believe?
I can't believe I did it. I can't believe I went & fell for the same crap a million Cubs fans believe every day. I actually thought they would produce in the post season. What a fool I was. I mean I never thought World Series but I was at least hoping for NLCS. What a kick in the balls. A sweep!? What happened! How did I fall for this gimmick? I should have trusted my Cardinal instinct & known the Cubs would find a way to blow it & sure enough I would have been right. For that matter how does your average run of the mill Cub fan deal with this dejection year after year and why do they remain loyal to a team dubbed "lovable losers"? I hear the Devil Rays bandwagon has room...might be time to jump ship. Think of the heartache you'll save yourself. I mean the Cards sucked through most of the 90's and I was in agony. Finally I was rewarded for loyalty with the 2006 World Series Championship but for the Cubs I guess you just have to "Wait until next year" as they say...every year.

Cardinals out of the Playoffs
Well I guess it has been official for a while now but the St. Louis Cardinals are officially out of the Playoffs for the first time in a long time. There will be no repeat for the 2006 World Series Champions. Losing all of your starting pitching and having mediocre years from your star players will do that to a team. As far as the future goes, I think LaRussa's out, Eckstein wants to stay, Izzy wants to stay, Pujols & Rolen are locked for a while, hopefully Edmonds retires and the Cards finally decide to get off their ass and make some off season transactions. Still it is upsetting that my baseball season is over (by that I mean I have no interest in watching any of the other teams) I guess I will root for the (shudder) Cubs seeing as how they are representing my division although I kinda of like the Phillies too. As far as the AL goes who cares? I never watch AL baseball until the world series. I'm fed up with Yankee/Red Sox hype like they are the only good teams in the league. So here's hoping the playoffs are as good this year as they were last year.

756
Some douche drops a shitbag of cash for Bonds 756th homerun ball, has a poll to decide what to do with it & the winning choice was to brand an asterisk on it then send it to cooperstown. The other choices were to send it to the Hall of Fame or, the only sensible choice, make it a real "rocket into space!" Like I've said I'm no Barry fan but I'll defend the guy for being a great ball player. Do you think the Hall of Fame will accept this ball? Is this justice? I'll bet Barry doesn't give a rat's ass and for the most part I don't either BUT...if someday I manage to make the trip to Cooperstown to show my kids cool baseball shit, I don't want some fucker's publicity stunt mucking up my experience. If you don't like Bonds fine but the record stands and is baseball history that in my opinion shouldn't get this treatment. Steroids suck it's true but I doubt they ever prove Bonds did them.

Heroes
Yea so I just got finished with season 1 of Heroes. Holy Badass! I can't believe those of you I call friends didn't make me watch this sooner. I loved every episode. I kinda lagged when the show first came out so I was behind. Not wanting to jump in mid season I just said screw it I'll wait for the DVD. Well that day came and boy was I pleasantly surprised. Of course all the powers are Marvel knock off but I still dig the new way of telling the story without spandex suits. I really dig Nikki/Jessica and of course Hiro, and Nathan, well I like them all. Thank goodness I did have the DVD because waiting a week to wrap up those cliff hangers would have killed me. Now that season 2 is under way I already have my predictions as to what will happen to who. Can't wait to see what's next hopefully it won't suck.

Manhunt
I just finished reading this book and I must say it was pretty badass. I'm no history buff so I'll admit that I knew just the facts about John Wilkes Booth and the assassination of President Lincoln. What I learned in reading this book really got me interested in the entire event, so much so that I've been online researching just to get more questions answered. Because the author draws from so many resources ( the bibliography itself is like 40 pages) the whole book reads like a police report. Using eye witness accounts, court testimonies, police reports, and Booth's own journal you follow the story practically day by day hour by hour. I also learned that this book is going to be made into a movie with Harrison Ford already signed up to play Sgt. Conger. It'll probably be a pretty good flick because it reads like a movie. On one hand you read a few paragraphs on Booth trying to escape after the shot and then a few on the audience going apeshit at Ford's theater and then later on Lincoln's final hours. Anyways I'm just saying it's a good book about a real historical event that literally shook the nation. If Booth and his conspirators (yes there was a conspiracy with 4 men assigned an assassination of their own) had succeeded then all of the heads of the U.S. government would have been killed giving the south the edge they needed to rally after the loss at Richmond and basically take over the entire country. To me that's pretty cool. If you need a good read I suggest it.

Like it or Not
Well like it or not Barry broke 755. Is he on roids? Hell I dunno. But I will continue to say that he is the best player of my generation...so far. Or at least until proven guilty. So the actual moment wasn't that magical. I remember watching Pete Rose break the hitting record with my dad, that was history, that was a moment. Bonds homer was just another stat to me, another headline I skimmed past on the internet before going to work. Does he deserve it? yes, somebody hit all those bombs and until they prove otherwise I'm sure it's a record that will last at least 10 years until Pujols breaks it.

Single Pro Football Team Seeks Players
Are you old? washed up? no good? will no other team have you? WE WILL! We are the Oakland Raiders where NFL careers go to die. If you have no where to go then why not consider a future with the Raiders? It's the next step before you retire so why not run through the motions in beautiful Oakland California? We'll even set you up in your own locker and you'll get your very own gear once we tear off the "Jamarcus Russell" off of it. You'll meet a slew of former Pro-Bowlers so c'mon down and join the team. Might as well...we couldn't possibly suck any worse.

Drunk Astronaut
Apparently NASA has come out and said that they allowed an astronaut who had been drinking to fly the space shuttle. Now if I were lucky enough to make it all the way to an actual space voyage you bet your ass once I'm there I'm getting drunk. Why? because at zero gravity you can suck beer blobs out of the air...that'd be cool. Secondly because I'd be trying to score, I mean how many people can say they've done it in space? Thirdly, why not? what are you going to hit in space? Seeing as how you're in space what are they going to do fire you? If you ask me a little drink before a launch sounds great. What better way to take off the edge of what could be the last trip of your life, besides you may as well drink I mean when will you ever go back to space?

The Beckhams
Dude, I'm just a simple man with a handful o' brains but I do know one thing for certain. Americans hate soccer. Unless you're a kid or the parent of a kid grade 3-12 then you have no interest in soccer. I will admit I did kind of get into the World Cup but only because it is a worldwide competition like the olympics. Other than that Americans hate soccer. It doesn't matter if you pay David Beckham or Doodie McGee all the money on earth, no one is going to watch it. I know one MLS team the LA Galaxy that's it. I know one player, David Beckham. I'm more interested in his smoking hot wife than I am him. By the way I love chicks who wear impossibly high heels, are married to rich athletes, and used to be in international supergirl groups. As a matter of fact I watched about 20minutes of her reality show which I know will be more than I watch of any Beckham game. I have seen some clips of the guy and he does seem to dominate a sport that is hard for one man to dominate which makes me wonder...how mad are all those Euro's that we just ganked their greatest sports hero ever?

To Potter or not to Potter?
I know millions love Harry Potter and his pals but I gotta tell ya, I'm not one of them. Sure I watch the movies when they are released on dvd but even then it's because my kid wants to. I never read the books so maybe I'm missing the boat or maybe I just don't get it. Lil' wizards going to school to learn lil' wizard tricks n' shit, yea it was a cool idea the first time but now it's time for Harry & his pals to start magic'n up some beer & strippers. I mean what good is wizardry if you can't get yourself a hottie or a pimped out ride( F that broom) How come Harry never sins not even a little? Isn't it about time he got his own pad? He runs with that huge bearded fuck, matter of fact... first order of business Potter help that apeman out with a good looking potion or some crap. The main bad dude is lame whatever his name we shall not type, I'd be more interested in a triple threat match with Potter, the red headed mook, and the hot lesbian friend they have. Until that happens I'll stick to Dragonslayer and Lord o' the Rings for my Wizard fix.

Transformers
So I just got back from seeing Transformers. I have to say it was pretty kick-ass. The best of the summer blockbusters so far. It was no Gone With the Wind but as far as a cool action packed summer movie it gets an A+ from me. The Autobots looked real to me not computer generated. Hearing Optimus Prime's voice again was cool. Shia LaBeouf has me convinced that he's the next big thing what a great job he did in this flick. The hot chick was hot. The story gets a little hokey but we are talking about alien robots that change into cars here. The new Camaro is so f'n sweet I can't wait to not be able to afford one. Lots of robot on robot violence, lots of city-wide destruction (who pays for that? Joe taxpayer that's who! thanks for nothin' Autobots!), lots of transforming, a robot body count! yes, robots die in this, and surprisingly a lot of funny moments. I took my kid with me and she loved it once she got over the fact that we weren't there to see Ratatouille ( worst movie name ever) I'm glad an old TV remake was finally good for once (see Dukes of Hazzard) and I look forward to any sequels that may be coming soon, so long as they don't suck. (see Caddyshack II)

What's Left?
Well seeing as how Spiderman 3 blew, The Fantastic Four was more or less lame, and from what I hear Pirates 3 sucked I have to wonder, what's left? I mean everything I have ever wanted to see on film has actually made it there. Sure they haven't been all that great (Hulk) but I did get to see the Silver Surfer, and a good Batman movie. Transformers is coming out next but without the Dino-bots does it really matter? What about the classic battle between Soundwave and Jam?...Probably not gonna make the big screen. Starscream had better not only be in the movie but also be badass. If Optimus Prime doesn't say, "Autobots Roll Out!" the whole film is forfeit anyway. If Transformers fails what's left? Indiana Jones 4 is so far away it may as well be Star Wars episode VII. The new Batman is a ways off too. So what DO I have to look forward to?
I guess for now I'll have to stick with the DVD collection. Smokey and the Bandit take me away!
- There is a live action(by live action I mean computer generated) version of Where The Wild Things Are being made.
- There is also a new Hulk (please don't suck) starring Ed Norton, Liv Tyler, & Tim Roth as Abomination
- Sam Jackson has signed onto Iron Man as Nick Fury (Ultimate Avengers style)
- Speed Racer, show me Chim-Chim
- Pixar's Wall-E bout some robut who looks and sounds like the poor man's Johnny Five
- G.I. Joe ok I made this up but a man can dream can't he?
I guess for now I'll have to stick with the DVD collection. Smokey and the Bandit take me away!

Spiderman 3 sucked
What the hell? I tried real hard to like this film but uh...it blew. I mean the cafe scene with Parker dancing, Holy shit I wanted to throw my Coke at the screen. I would have too if it hadn't cost $7. There has got to be, I mean GOT TO BE someone out there to stop these shitty things from happening. How can they screen the final product slap each other on the back and say, "What a movie! We've got a hit!" Venom was what I thought would save the film but once I saw his skinny ass I liked my odds of whooping him. Sandman was kick ass til he turned into Weakass storm and even lamer Godzilla sized dolt. How come when Sandman & Venom were in costume their only dialogue was, "Mwaaaaa!" What the fuck they can still talk right? I was upset because with all the cool Spidey chrarcters much better could have been made. If they were smart at all they would nage a story stright from the comic.
